I haven't studied this issue closely, but from these numbers, it doesn't appear as though there has been a significant decline in legal immigrants to the US.

Hi aagold, I was unable to locate the source of this data on the BLS site. I contacted the authors of the document you provided for this info, but they did not respond in the last two days.

I would like to see whether and how this data has changed over time. There can be many reasons for the stats you site. For one thing, not all degrees are valued the same by employers. Second, employees may be making conscious choices for some of these jobs (e.g. flight attendants get paid an average of $41K according to BLS and gets to travel the world - for some, this may beat working in an office). Some of this work could also be part-time (e.g. a parking attendant who is going for a second or advanced degree). Seeing how this data has changed over time, and seeing some more details around it, would be useful.Saj Karsanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04493152766022812984noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7294165939647321702.post-73990625907443210182011-07-19T05:48:56.885-04:002011-07-19T05:48:56.885-04:00AAgold - You might also need to look at what kinds...AAgold - You might also need to look at what kinds of degrees these individuals have to get an accurate picture of the situation.

I think the point is that, all else equal, those with a college degree have a much better employment rate than those without one.Ankit Guptanoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7294165939647321702.post-45234513602918922552011-07-18T20:31:09.702-04:002011-07-18T20:31:09.702-04:00Saj,
