I've enjoyed a couple of Amor Towles' other books, so I decided to grab his first novel, Rules of Civility
It's a historical fiction novel set in New York during the 1930s. Newcomers from all over are looking to make fresh starts in the city, and the book follows one woman in particular who edges her way into the upper class.
