Canam Goes Private

It feels like just last month that I was discussing Canam Group (CAM) as a new potential value investment - because it was. Thanks to extraordinarily lucky timing, I no longer own any shares, as last week the company's management (in concert with private equity) decided to take the company private.

Though this kind of situation results in a nice profit, because it will go private I don't really get to see if I was right that the company will recover. Don't get me wrong: I'll take this result any day, and I'm happy to find learnings/experience elsewhere! But I'm not sure there are any lessons here, other than "Be Lucky!", which I shall endeavour to do from here on out.

Disclosure: Author has a long position in shares of CAM
