Cosmos

Cosmos is one of those timeless books that remains relevant despite its age. This 1980 gem by Carl Sagan explores the universe and life.

It lets the layman understand what we know about the world around us (and including us) and how we know it. Compared to a lot of other popular science books aimed at the layman (e.g. various books by Stephen Hawking), I found this one much easier to understand.

Sagan was a gifted and hard-working scientist, and I am lucky to have been able to learn from him through this medium. Highly recommend.
