Factfulness

I can't believe the author of this 2018 book has already passed away. His enthusiasm and manner of speaking were contagious (I have discussed him on this site way back in 2010), and I found myself reading Factfulness: Ten Reasons We're Wrong About the World in his voice.

Considering the rave reviews the book has gotten, I was excited to read it. But it disappointed at first, as it appeared to cover a number of human biases that have already been well-documented on this site (for example, through other books). But the deeper I got into the book, the better it became. The points Rosling was making became more unique, but outshining his points were his real-life examples demonstrating the importance of the points. I learned a lot about different countries and cultures thanks to Roslings first-hand experience as a doctor and researcher.

If you are a student of human biases, or have questions about the state of the world, Factfulness is a must-read.
