I rarely read books a second time (though I plan to do more of it in the future), so when I do it's because I considered them great. The Game: Penetrating the Secret Society of Pickup Artists is definitely in that category. It blew me away in a number of ways when I first read it more than a decade ago, and so I decided to give it another go.
It offers insights into human biases that are otherwise rarely seen/discussed in our society, thanks to taboos which keep matters of love private. It also appeals to the contrarian in me: to get results that are better than the norm, one has to do what others are not; though it's counter-intuitive, one often has to do the exact *opposite* of instinct in order to succeed.
The book really drags on at the end as it delves into the lives of a few guys in particular. But you can skip all that and just stick to the subject matter of the book. If you're like me, it will inspire you to read more on this subject, and there are lots of resources online to satisfy your appetite.
I strongly recommend the book to anyone (male or female) who is single!
