The Art of Thinking Clearly

We think we are pretty rational, but our behaviour indicates otherwise. In The Art of Thinking Clearly, Rolf Dobelli discusses a number of our biases and suggests solutions for staying rational.

If you're a student of human biases, you'll recognize a number of them right off the bat. Things like confirmation bias, overconfidence and reciprocity are well-known. But a number of them were new to me. That's because Dobelli compiled no less than 100 biases in the making of this book.

Unlike a lot of books of this format, however, it did not feel "listy". Each bias is accompanied by a little anecdote demonstrating it in action, along with some suggestions on mitigating the bias in your own life.

What I liked about this format is that I was easily able to skip the biases that I already understand (but likely still fall victim to!).

Enjoy!
